A team from the Gaming Board for The Bahamas, led by Assistant Secretary Cheryl Carey (Compliance, Risk, and Enforcement), attended the Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre’s Annual Gambling Addiction Symposium, held under the theme: "Choose Your Path: Healthy Choices, Bright Futures."

As part of our Responsible Gaming campaign, this initiative aimed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions about gambling, substance use, and overall well-being.

During the session, we provided an overview of the Gaming Board’s role and highlighted the potential risks associated with gambling. Recognizing the importance of early intervention, we engaged the students through an interactive Q&A segment, where they had the chance to win prizes while reinforcing key lessons.

Our goal was to redirect their focus from gambling toward more constructive and fulfilling activities, encouraging resilience and informed decision-making. These moments of engagement are invaluable, and we were thrilled to interact with the students and provide them with the tools to navigate their future choices responsibly.

The Gaming Board for The Bahamas remains committed to fostering a culture of awareness, responsibility, and support, ensuring that young individuals have access to the resources they need for a brighter future.
